Belle is an 11 year old grade Palomino mare standing 14.5 hands. Pretty much one hand broke. Incredibly gentle and easy to catch. GREAT with kids. Good for any level rider. NO kick, buck, or bite. Not spooky. Loads, tacks, and stands nice (See the video!). Rides with a snaffle or Hackamore style.
Great trail horse or for lessons. UTD on shots. Dog safe. Belle had a respiratory infection in October that cleared up with antibiotic & probiotic treatment, but she lost her appetite for a few weeks and shed some weight. She has her appetite and energy back now and has found some of the lost weight. She is quite strong and stout.
I had X-rays done on her hooves when she was ill and saw slight signs of founder, but you’d never know if I didn’t tell you! With a good farrier keeping her trimmed, she’ll give many years of companionship.
10/23/23, URI didn’t improve. Began Antibiotic. Lost appetite and a couple hundred pounds. X-Ray on front hooves showed minor past founder. It took a month to get her energy and some weight back on. She’s doing great now. Vet’s prognosis: Goof farrier correcting her hoof angles and she’ll be fine.
11/8/23, Farrier found the remnants of foundered RIGHT front and signs of laminitis on the LEFT front. Adjusted her hoof angles and breakover point. She runs great with no sign of lameness.
